HEY, I’M SOPH!

ONE OF THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS I’VE RECEIVED SINCE BECOMING A COACH IS “WHY DID YOU START TRAINING?“

And to be honest, it’s probably one of the most cliche (but relatable) answers. I went through a break up back in 2019. I hit my lowest point, had minimal self respect for myself and thrived off of habits that weren’t doing me ANY good.

Fast forward 5 years later, and girllll, I don’t even recognise that girl anymore. I have done a complete 180 with my life.

Which brings me to the EXACT reason why the Sophfit community was created. 

Too often, I see women go through a low point or consistently feel lost with their ‘purpose’ and it reminds me of where I was in 2019, they become nervous to take that first step to better themselves or they get overwhelmed by the constant misinformation circulating out there, ultimately leaving them still overwhelmed and stuck at square one.

I’ve now worked with 200+ women that have broken through barriers that were taking control of their lives, overcome their yo-yo relationship with themselves, seen results that they could never have imagined seeing AND learnt how to ACTUALLY sustain these transformations long-term!

    Before I joined Sophfit I was super lost in my health and fitness journey! I would go to the gym and train with whatever machines were free to use and would spend max 25 minutes maybe doing 2 exercises and then leave the gym feeling so unaccomplished. I really had no idea about what the target of a lot of machines and exercises were before starting with Soph. I literally used to think that deadlifts were an upper body exercise 🤨!

    I really struggled with motivation and would take weeks off before finding the courage to head back to the gym. I always ate what was in the cupboard and had never meal prepped a day in my life- this was a huge challenge for myself to find foods that I would enjoy and boy did it turn out easier than I thought with Soph’s help!!

    My biggest achievement has been consistently heading to the gym 3 times a week and following a program!! I also have gained confidence since joining Soph’s team- in which I have always struggled with. I have been able to do exercises without focusing on what other people may be thinking and my mindset with food and nutrition has changed sooo much - I am now able to mindfully eat without feeling regret afterwards. I’ve learnt that food if fuel and should not be restrained !!

    I just found a new love for health and fitness again! I found that health and fitness is meant to be not only challenging but also fun! I never thought I would be training three times a week (good sessions longer than 20 minutes !!)

    Life before starting coaching with Soph consisted of yo yo dieting, binge eating, training with no intention, having minimal motivation, comparing myself to others, and being so un happy/ uncomfortable in my own skin.

    Since beginning my journey with Soph in October last year I can honestly say, hand to heart that she has not only changed my life but has helped me fall back in love with myself. Soph helped me out of bad eating habits and guided me through learning that food is not the enemy. I’ve healed my relationship with food and the way I approach meals.     How crazy is it that I trained for 2 years and made minimal progress. Then I join with you this year and we’ve made that much progress in 8 months?!?!? 

    Crazy how much a balanced diet with NO restrictions just smarter choices, actually repeating the same program each week, enforcing healthy habits and overall bettering my lifestyle has shown me the most progress.

    Before starting coaching with Soph, I struggled to stay consistent, lacking motivation and drive for my training. I used to train as a form of punishment or out of a need to feel like I had ‘worked off’ what I ate.

    Before starting with Soph I was going to the gym and randomly picking and choosing my exercises when I got there and it was inconsistent and all over the place. I now have detailed and proper gym plan that I follow religiously.

    Before starting with Soph, I didn’t have a routine, I was just doing whatever I wanted, whenever I felt like it. I had minimal structure or consistency when it came to my nutrition and training.

    From 45kg to 60kg. I never thought I’d be coming into a new year at 60kg AND doing it without putting any pressure on my eating habits. I used to think that the number on the scales defined my worth and meant my body would blow out of proportion and I’d be considered “over weight”.

    After taking a look back and comparing these two photos it really proves to me the importance of controlling your body, not the scales.

    Before coaching, tracking food felt impossible, and gaining weight seemed daunting. Now after working with Soph, tracking food is a part of my routine and gaining weight has been the opposite of daunting, it’s actually bought me so much happiness!

    I’ve built a healthy relationship with food, and I’ve even started taking photos and tracking it in the past 6 months, which is something I would have NEVER done prior to coaching.

    Literally can’t think of a negative from coaching so far. It’s done me wonders to my lifestyle and mindset around food and my body!
